Your new website is live? What’s now?!

Updated on September 16, 2025

Congratulations, your new website is live! You invested time, money, and resources into its launch. You had a great time with the digital agency that built it for you, but now what? That’s it for our collaboration?

The launch is just the beginning! Without consistent website maintenance or SEO strategies, you’re not getting the most out of your investment.

It would be a shame to make a big investment, and then let it slowly get covered in dust for the next few years and then… just start over with a new website.

Your website is your sales tool

Website Maintenance is not for the looks of your website. It’s for ensuring the website keeps working as intended. Your customers can still find what they are looking for without stranding on broken pages, contact forms remain working, addresses and phone numbers remain up-to-date, the website and your business keep thriving.

No one likes to end up on a website where the latest post is from over a few years ago. It just doesn’t feel right for the customer. But keeping fresh content and insightful news about your industry is your task, or if you hired an agency to do it for you, their task.

Website Maintenance also makes sure that the editing tools and functionalities on your website remain working smoothly. Not only for your customers, but website maintenance mainly helps your company by making changes to the website easy and fun!

Everything works better when maintained properly

Not caring for something eventually ends up with something that either costs a lot of money/effort to repair, or “it’s cheaper to buy a new one”. For example, your brand new bike that was once brand new, just stands in the garage for 3 years without moving an inch. Tires deflated, rusty chains and brakes, a saddle that is giving off, … When you simply give it a ride or a quick clean once in a while, the bike remains in perfect condition.

Some expensive website issues that can easily be avoided with simple maintenance:

  • Hacked websites
  • Outdated plugins or server
  • Broken lead forms on your site that no one has noticed for the past 6 months
  • Broken API connections (social media feeds, online payments, maps, …)

Note that many of these issues also rarely come alone. Once your plugins or server is no longer up-to-date, your contact forms might stop working, or you will have increased security risks. Resulting in a hacked website that is too infected to quickly fix.

Suddenly, it becomes an emergency, your lead forms do not work, or your site is down. All hands on deck, you reach out to your agency, and they will do their best to resolve it as quickly as possible. Everything is rushed, no one is happy, everything takes longer than expected and the price for the recovery in the end will also not make you happy.

Website Maintenance Guarantee

Make sure to always check what’s included in your maintenance contract if you decide to go for it. So you’re sure what you’re paying for, and what is covered when something happens or when you ask for content updates.
