Streamlining Internal Workflows
Our client used Booqable’s rental software internally to manage the rental of various props and items, primarily through its webshop functionality. However, internal employees faced difficulties tracking their reservations due to the lack of individualized views and control. Instead, they had to access the main administrative interface, which allowed them to manage rentals but lacked tailored visibility and control.
Our approach.
Experience with Diverse Markets and Custom Platform Integration
Our design team carefully matched the custom platform’s components to the existing Booqable system to ensure a seamless user experience. By fully replicating the familiar UI elements of Booqable, internal employees could navigate the custom platform effortlessly, making the transition smooth. This alignment allowed them to feel right at home while using the app, ensuring minimal disruption to their workflows.
Leveraging Laravel as our core development framework allowed us to build upon the existing Booqable API with enhanced custom functionality tailored specifically for De Mensen.
Our approach ensured that the custom platform layer functioned as a natural extension of the existing system, familiar to the client but significantly more powerful in terms of reservation tracking and management.
Like modular building blocks, every component of our solution was designed to be adjustable, allowing internal employees to interact with their reservations dynamically and efficiently without needing direct access to the main administrative portal.
Although not all needed APIs were documented, our team meticulously worked through the existing application to identify and utilize hidden API calls, enabling a more refined data interaction tailored to the client’s operational needs. This approach not only preserved the integrity and performance of the platform but also enhanced its functionality, allowing for a smoother transition and better data management.
The MVP was first rolled out within our development environment, which allowed for iterative feedback from the client. This process was crucial in refining the functionalities and ensuring the platform met all user expectations. Regular updates and agile development practices enabled us to address any issues promptly and refine the platform according to the real-time user feedback.
Post-deployment, we provided comprehensive support and maintenance, ensuring the new system was always up-to-date and operating efficiently. Regular check-ins with the client helped to address any arising issues quickly and maintain the reliability of the system.
Through this project, De Mensen has significantly enhanced its internal processes, providing a more intuitive and efficient system for managing rentals, thus allowing their creative teams to focus more on production and less on administrative tasks.
Streamlining Access and Control
De Mensen’s internal employees struggled with a lack of tailored visibility and control over their reservations while using the default Booqable platform. The inability to view and manage individual reservations without accessing the general administrative interface led to inefficient workflows and a lack of insight into costs.
Employees needed an intuitive solution that allowed them to log in and manage their specific rentals directly, make modifications, and mark items as returned. Additionally, the client wanted comprehensive insights into their reservation data, particularly the ability to track production costs by combining reservation and invoice totals.
Crafting a solution that integrated seamlessly with the existing Booqable setup, while offering these advanced capabilities, was the primary challenge.
